About our Project
Transforming Healthcare through Innovative Nurse-Led Care Delivery Solutions is a 22-month project initiated by the Johnson & Johnson Center for Health Worker Innovation Center (The Center) and facilitated by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). As the nursing workforce faces unprecedented changes, challenges, and vacancies related to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Center and IHI believe there are opportunities for improvement and innovation to alter the trajectory of the health care workforce and the corresponding impact to patient and staff outcomes. This project focuses on bringing inter-disciplinary groups together to identify care delivery solutions that will ultimately attract, support, and strengthen a thriving and diverse nursing workforce.

About the Learning and Action Prototyping Network (LAN)
Up to five healthcare organizations that are physically located in the US will be selected to participate in this Learning and Action Prototyping Network (LAN), with one to two pilot units at each site. In this LAN, participating organizations will test and evaluate change ideas with support from peers and a team of subject matter experts. Areas that will be examined include: virtual care nursing, innovative technologies, and creative ways to utilize support, teams, and resources. There will be three Virtual Learning Sessions, monthly coaching and all-participant calls, and hands-on support throughout the project to promote learning and successful implementation for all participants.
Selection of the sites will occur in July 2023 with onboarding and preparation of sites throughout the summer months. Prototype testing is anticipated to begin in September of 2023 and will continue through June 2024.
