Many of you took the Open School’s recent survey to help us plan new educational content this year. We were grateful to have the participation of 129 learners — a mix of health care students, professionals, and faculty. We’re sharing the results of the survey on our blog this week. What’s next for health care reform in the United States? The Affordable Care Act (ACA) has set the stage for health systems to move toward the Triple Aim — better experience of care for individuals, better health for the population, all at a lower cost — but now the time has come for health care leaders to act. So argue IHI’s Dr. Don Berwick, Derek Feeley, and Dr. Saranya Loehrer in a new viewpoint in JAMA. “Continued reliance on the ACA alone is wholly insufficient to accelerate delivery system reform to the level needed,” they write. “Leaders involved in health care must be actively and directly involved in catalyzing change needed to achieve the Triple Aim.” Learn more about IHI’s Triple Aim in TA 101: Introduction to Population Health.
