Dr. Jennifer Adaeze Okwerekwu just started her first year of medical residency, and her standards for a good day are low — a medical student didn’t throw her under the bus, a senior resident didn’t demean a nurse, and an attending physician didn’t berate her for a mistake. So she was surprised when a faculty member talked to her class about the joy of practicing medicine.
